NEW Community Bus Service

NEW Community Bus Service

Council is trialling a new Community Bus service between 21 November and 21 December 2017. Are you going to hop on?!

The District Council of Yankalilla recently asked the Community for feedback on the future use of our Community Bus and is trialling a new Community Bus service every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday until 21 December 2017.

The most commonly requested locations were a 'local loop', a run to Victor Harbor and a shuttle service to the Seaford Train Station. So these are the routes we will be trialling.

During the trial, our current Community Bus will be used and as part of the trial, assessment will take place on the size/type of vehicle appropriate for the future.

About the 'Local Loop'

This takes place every Tuesday and Thursday, starting at Cape Jervis at 9.00am. Get more details from our Community Bus Route and Timetable Details(1292 kb).

About the 'Seaford Shuttle'

A shuttle to the Seaford Train Station and Seaford Central Shopping Centre will take place on 29 November and 13 December 2017.  It will leave Cape Jervis at 8:37am and get you all to the Shopping Centre for approximately 10:30am.

The drop at the train station will give you access to many other locations using public transport options available.

The shuttle will leave the Shopping Centre at 2.00pm – so make sure you plan your return journey carefully.

Note – to save the bus travelling to Inman Valley and back on the way to Seaford, the residents of Inman Valley will have a special 'shuttle service’ pick up at 9:20am from the Memorial Hall.  We will ensure you meet the Community Bus as it travels through Yankalilla. You will be returned to Inman Valley by approximately 3:15pm.

Get more details from our Community Bus Route and Timetable Details(1292 kb).

About the 'Victor Vehicle'

A service to Victor Harbor will take place on 22November, 6 December and 20 December 2017.  It commences at Cape Jervis at 8:37am and will get you to Victa Cinema for 10:25am, the Victor Centre Shopping Centre at 10:35am and the Fleurieu Aquatic Centre at 10:55am.

Note – to save the bus travelling to Myponga and back on the way to Victor Harbor, the residents of Myponga will have a special ‘shuttle service’ pick up at 9:20am from the Town Hall. We will ensure you meet the Community Bus as it travels through Yankalilla. You will be returned to Myponga by approximately 3:05pm.

Get more details from our Community Bus Route and Timetable Details(1292 kb).

For the period of the trial, the service will be of no charge and your feedback will be requested when taking a ride.
